    Emirates Skills 2013: No challenge 
is too difficult

    Rashid Saeed Obaid was focused. He was concentrating on the task before him — taking the car engine apart and checking for loose parts before assembling it back together. He worked hard and finished the task within two hours, an hour ahead of the allotted time.

    The 16-year-old from the Secondary Technical School (STS) in Fujairah was one of the 425 students who showcased their adeptness at the Emirates Skills 2013 National Competition on Tuesday. The Emirati youngster was hoping that his agility would win him the prize for the automobile technology.

General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, was briefed on Wednesday, on the distinguished skills of the country’s youth, who are taking part in Emirates Skills National Competition 2013. The competition, organized by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), is held at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre.

    ACTVET puts spotlight on UAE's talent before going on to compete in Emirates Skills National Competition

    A selection of elite Emirati student projects from vocational high schools and higher education institutes across the UAE displaying the latest in technological innovation will be on show to coincide with the beginning of the new academic year.

    Ten stand-out student projects from campuses under the umbrella of the Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) will be on display at NAJAH Education, Training and Careers exhibition, taking place from 16-18 October at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, before going on to compete in the Emirates Skills National Competition early next year.

    Panel on President’s initiative approves fund for diploma programme

    ABU DHABI: Funds for a vocational diploma programme for national high school graduates have been approved by the committee which is following up the implementation of the initiatives of the President.

    The programme will be implemented by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) across the UAE.
